The Brite Side of Event Management

One of the most sought after abilities a person can possess in the business world is the ability to recognize potential.  Potentialcomes in all forms.  It can be in the form of an employee, an idea, or a web-based event management solution. The ability to recognize a potential solution when it comes is what sets you apart. Get Your Self-Service On!

Do you need to make an immediate or occasional one-time backup of your Dynamics GP databases, or maybe run a SQL job that populates your BI360 Data Warehouse?  Occasionally, you may be performing some month-end closing procedures, post a large, significant batch, or perhaps you are about to integrate a large amount of your Dynamics GP data into your BI360 Data Warehouse.  It’s critical that you make a good set of database backups to use in recovery in case of a failure, in order to refresh your Dynamics GP data into your Data Warehouse without IT involvement.  There are several ways you can create a one-time backup or run other SQL jobs, like refreshing your Data Warehouse for month-end reporting.  Here are some easiest ways, with some of the tools most people are familiar with:

OneNote – Microsoft’s Much Ignored Power Add-In

My first experience working with OneNote was about 5 years ago at a large corporation. This company fell under Sarbanes-Oxley rules, and as such everything was in the public domain: meeting notes, invites, emails, everything. It was used by everybody and everybody felt it was a chore to use.

Dynamics GP Development for Web Client with Custom Rendering

With the advent of the web client, a lot of things have had to change in the way we create customizations in Dynamics GP. VBA is not used with the web client, so right away, all those old VBA customization are going to need to be re-done in Dexterity or Dot Net. Many existing Dot Net add-ons will need to be updated to work with the web client, especially when it comes to rendering the forms for the web client.

Management Reporter – Understanding How It Works

Management Reporter (MR) is the financial reporting tool that comes with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP).  This is the replacement for FRx, and when companies go to Dynamics GP 2015 they have to use Management Reporter or a third party product for reporting.  We get many questions concerning this change:  Why is FRx going away and why do I have to use Management Reporter?  What are the differences between the two?  Is everything that was available in FRx available in Management Reporter?  What is new in Management Reporter that was not available in FRx?  Let’s answer these questions, thereby helping with the decision on moving to Management Reporter or looking for a third party product for financial reporting.

Dear Diary, Why Don’t My Customers Want to Talk to Me?

In today’s tech driven world, human interaction is dwindling more and more. You see it everywhere! People sitting at dinner, staring at their phones; kids walking with headphones on while they look at the ground; professionals sitting in coffee shops with their phone, tablet, and laptop all at their fingertips. One thing is becoming very clear, we want to be empowered by technology and not have to rely on human interaction to get our information.

The Agile Calendar

The Agile Calendar was built based on the Agile Manifesto (http://agilemanifesto.org/principles.html), and like the manifesto, contains 12 themes, or principals. Here I am going to go over some of the highlights.
