The Amazonian Sales Tax Facing 3rd Party Sellers
Marketplace selling can be a smart strategy for merchants who want to expand their business. But what if you don’t have the time, money or resources to fulfill more orders in-house? You could consider becoming part of an order management and fulfillment network such as Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA).
‘Ask the Expert’ Session: Desktop vs. Remote Desktop
Blogs are a way for KTL Solutions to provide information and highlight particular items and solutions to our customers and users. In this month’s blog, I wanted to highlight KTL Solutions’ 10th Annual User Conference and, in particular, I wanted to provide a recap of the “Ask the Expert” session hosted by Dave Vora and myself.
Top 5 Reasons to Use Microsoft Dynamics GP Project Accounting
Microsoft Dynamics GP’s Project Accounting suite is a robust, highly configurable and flexible module which is fully integrated with other modules within the Dynamics GP product suite. The flexibility of configuration, setup and integration to other modules makes it an attractive choice for tracking financial data by contract, project and cost category. It allows you to maintain complete control over project costs and execution, while also maintaining control over project budgets.
4 Easy Steps to Safe Pay
What is Safe Pay?
Safe Pay or Positive Pay is a program provided by the bank for the purposes of theft / fraud protection. The Company setting up Safe Pay will provide a file to the bank. This file should include the Company’s Bank Account Number – Check Number – Issue Date – Amount. When a check is presented to the Bank for payment it is compared to this list. If the fields do not match exactly the check will not be paid and the company / user will receive an exception notification. At that point the company / user would instruct the bank to either pay the check or return the check.
Going Paperless… PaperSave at the Empower the User Conference
KTL Solutions held its 10th Annual User Conference on Thursday, May 14th. This year we invited several more ISVS (Dynamics GP and CRM Companion Products) so that users could see more ways to enhance their systems outside of what GP or CRM has to offer. While KTL only asks the best of the best to attend and speak to our customers, one of my favorites that we had this year was PaperSave.
Financial Forecasting, Planning, and Adjusting– Is it Really Necessary?
Forecasting, budgeting, business planning; what is the big deal? It is an important topic and at our User Conference, we had sessions and speakers talking about this. In the past, some mid-sized and most small companies have managed to grow and be profitable without formal planning and strategic visions. For some executives, budgeting and planning seems like a lot of wasted effort to creating fictional numbers that are a guess today and completely irrelevant in six months!
Being a Consultant at KTL and Our Annual User Conference.
In this blog, I wanted to provide a little insight into what it is like to be a Consultant at KTL Solutions and shed a little light on what our user conference is all about from a consulting perspective. I have been working at KTL Solutions as a Senior Business Consultant for a little over three years. In this capacity I have been implementing and supporting Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and PaperSave along with many third party add-ons. Prior to working at KTL Solutions, I was also implementing and supporting ERP systems for about 20 years.
Is this a Project? Some fundamental rules in defining a Project.
What constitutes a project in the real sense of the PMI:
- Projects are always temporary in nature, therefore, they have a start data and an end date.
- Projects are unique in nature and do not include repetitive actions because that was the case it would be deemed a routine operation.
- Projects also must have specific goals and milestones that need to be delivered and met.

In my last blog post we talked about Power BI Designer Preview and why I was lovin’ it. In this post I’m going to use Microsoft’s most recently Power BI tool to connect to my SQL server instance to analysis my Google Analytics data, Marketing data and CRM opportunities.
Connect to your SQL Data
Let’s get started by selecting the Get Data button in the top left corner and then select SQL Server
